Maybe I'll rent it when it's on DVD.

They said that The Chinese Space Station would burn up on April 1 or 2, but that's not an April Fool's joke either:

It seems I'm going back into a horror movie phase, and that's what's led me into wanting to see this 2018 movie. I think I realized that when I discovered my own interest in watching both the 1971 and 2017 versions of "The Beguiled".

Supposedly it's quite good, from what I've been hearing. Definitely added to my watch list.

The worst review I've read of it so far was still a positive one - it said the beginning was weak, Kidman's performance was lackluster, and there was a bit of "whitewashing". But they said the suspense was played out perfectly, and the flaws were forgivable in the long run.

I was referring to 'A Quiet Place', actually. I've seen the 2017 version of The Beguiled, which was quite good! In general I can appreciate Sofia Coppola's filmography. :)

Where was my head? Yes, the mention of Kidman and the "whitewashing" wasn't supposed to be in my post. :)

I saw "A Quiet Place" on DVD last month. It was OK. It looked like they were setting it up for a sequel. If the space aliens are blind, then how did they find Earth?

Sydney is one of my co-workers. Sydney said that she saw it in the theater and hated it.

Never found it on DVD anywhere, but that's probably because of where I live. My society doesn't do much when it comes to versatility. It's all "ghetto" or Baptist.

Baptist?

Your family is Baptist? Or do you mean German Baptist? The German Baptists, Amish, and Mennonites are near the area of Indiana that I'm in. I don't know where in the USA you are.

Well, if we're talking about aliens in this movie and religion, then I have a joke. Maybe about 5 years ago, I saw a headline that I thought was from the Salt Lake City Tribune's web site. I think it was, "I'd be embarrassed to explain religion to aliens." Then I thought, "Which is more embarrassing? Explaining religion to aliens? Or explaining aliens to the religious?"

No, I'm not Baptist. But the Baptist faith seems to make up about 90% of the churches in Alabama. The second most popular faith seems to be Scientology of all things. My faith is about the 200th most popular in the state - Episcopalian.

I had forgotten to respond 8 days ago. I know that this post of mine is also off-topic from the first post, but the point is that I don’t mind if you post on the Wolf3D Haven religion thread.

A woman I know who doesn't joke about these things says that L Ron Hubbard might have been on crystal or liquid meth before developing schizophrenia and founding Scientology.

I’m overhearing parts of The George Herbert Walker Bush funeral on TV and he’s Episcopal, like you.

I once saw that the thread about religion was 40 or so pages on a Minecraft forum that I had heard of. Nobody still posts about religion on http://wolf3d.darkbb.com/t2520p200-religion besides me, but it’s a tame thread about religion, and you can post there if you’d like. The forum needs posts.

Thank you for the invite, but this week certainly isn't the week to do it for me. I intend to release Issue #1 of a three-issue digital disk magazine for an 8-bit computer. Not to sound like a grouch, but I expect there to be a lot of beginner's mistakes with the issue, and I prefer not to have other things drawing my attention away from me. :(

As it is, I'm more into social psychology than I am religion.

I've seen A Quiet Place, but I haven't seen A Quiet Place Part 2. Yesterday, I think I was watching The Today Show when they mentioned that the Screen Actors Guild strike ended. Then they listed some postponed movies for 2024. They said A Quiet Place: Day One is moved from March 2024 to June or July 2024: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13433802/

Forgive me for this double post, but I feel that that this is relevant because the trailer is now available. I briefly woke up at about 2 am and they were replaying yesterday’s Access Daily. Access Daily With Mario & Kit said that there will be A Quiet Place: Day One this June: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13433802/ The monsters remind me of the revenant or archvile from Doom 2: Hell on Earth. I don't go to movie theaters by myself anymore because I feel that it's expensive and more fun with other people that I know. If I remember, I might watch it later when it's available for streaming.
